Colcom Foundation

Colcom Foundation is a charity founded in 1997 and created by two men who were to be husband and wife. It provides education, technology, and support to underprivileged children. In particular, it helps impoverished children get the skills needed to be stable members of society as adults. Colcom Foundation’s goal is not only to help individuals but also the world as a whole by raising awareness of their causes. They have raised a lot of money since they started, which has allowed them to open programs in Africa, Europe, and Latin America.

The Colcom Foundation has given over $45 million to projects and programs over the past 15 years. Also, they have helped over 200,000 students. Colcom Foundation has donated over $5.5 million to the Colcom Scholars Program, which goes to eight colleges in the United States and Canada.

This program offers scholarships to students who have built their community, are involved in theatre or music, and have gone through hardships. Colcom Foundation began funding the awards seven years ago because money from other sources started drying up. They provide scholarships to students with a GPA of 2.75 or higher, and this money can also be used for supplementary school fees and to cover travel expenses.

The Foundation was founded by Charity Majors and his fiancé, Wendy Gagel. Both were born in the United Kingdom and came to the United States for college. After their studies, Reality for Charity Productions Inc., the company they had set up, dissolved. Charity Majors wanted to give more time to his charity, which was then called Colcom Foundation. So Gagel became the sole director of the organization. After learning about the foundation, Andy Redleaf, a philanthropist, and businessman, gave almost $40 million to the Foundation. This money allowed them to expand their services and helped them create the “Colcom Scholars Program”.
