Greg Aziz is a Canadian businessman and the CEO of Walter Kidde Railcar. This is a prominent railway freight car manufacturing company based in Hamilton, Ontario. Born in London, Ontario in 1949, Greg Aziz studied economics at the University of Western Ontario and began his career in the family business, Affiliated Foods. 


This firm is a wholesale food distribution company. After working at Affiliated Foods for several years, business leader Greg Aziz moved to New York to pursue a career in investment banking. He worked in the finance industry for several years, eventually becoming the CEO of the prestigious National Industries Inc., a private equity firm, in 1994. In 1994, Aziz purchased Walter Kidde Railcar from its previous owner, Dofasco.


They had the goal of revitalizing the company and turning it into a leading manufacturer of railway freight cars in North America. He immediately set to work improving the company’s engineering capabilities, investing in new technology and equipment, and expanding the workforce. Under Greg Aziz’s leadership, Walter Kidde Railcar has become one of the most successful railway car manufacturers in North America, with a workforce of over 3,000 employees and an annual production capacity of over 12,500 cars.

He has donated generously to a number of charities and organizations in Hamilton and beyond, including the Hamilton Opera, the United Way, and the Salvation Army. He is also a sponsor of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Canada’s largest agricultural fair. Overall, Greg Aziz is a highly respected and accomplished business leader who has played a crucial role in revitalizing Walter Kidde Railcar and turning it into one of the most successful railway car manufacturers in North America.
