KELCY WARREN AND HIS EFFORTS IN THE ENERGY TRANSFER INDUSTRY

Kelcy Warren, the chairman, and CEO of Energy Transfer, was born and raised in Gladewater, Texas, in 1955. He believes being successful is being without regrets, and it is a crest he has yet to climb. Growing up, his family had a deficiency in money. He started working when he was 12 years old. His father worked for Sun Oil and eventually became a field clerk. Kelcy’s mom never graduated high school, but she worked at a department store. Regardless of her being without a high school certificate, she always engraved to her children how important education is.

He joined the University of Texas in Arlington to study engineering but dropped out at the finale of the first year. The university took him back the consecutive year. His engineering lecturer, Syed Qasim, was aware of his failed novice year and encouraged him to register for an endowment to work on a research project the National Science Foundation endorsed. He signed up, was awarded the scholarship, and triumphed with a top prize for his project on methane gas production.

He later received a degree in civil engineering, and Lonestar Gas Company employed him as a pipeline designer. Kelcy Warren joined Endevco and shifted into the commercial aspect of energy development. In 1992 Kelcy Warren and an associate acquired Endevco and replaced its name with Cornerstone Natural Gas. He has supervised one of the country’s best and most diverse portfolios of universally traded energy alliances.

Kelcy Warren established a donation at his university to honor his professor, Qasim. He was the top contributor to Kylde Warren Park, famously known as one of the nation’s three most successful urban parks, which he named in honor of his child. Warren has accommodated a yearly fundraiser for Cherokee Crossroads, Inc., which funded children’s endowment in Texas. Kelcy was also on the board of The Lamplighter School, where he was a part of the Texas Business Hall of Fame. He earned the Gas Processors Supplier Association’s Hanlon Award and the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Visit this page to learn more.
