Alliance Defending Freedom vision is to see the Church faithfully and fearlessly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and defend religious liberty for all. In 1971, these words were conceived in light of a court ruling that terminated public funding for Catholic schools in Milwaukee because they violated state law by denying students access to contraceptives. This decision opened our nation’s eyes to how dangerously freedom can be jeopardized when it is limited by government – especially when rights have been established previously through church teaching. This group is working tirelessly today to protect this ideal—even if it means taking the case against them all the way through federal appeals courts.
Alliance Defending Freedom believes that under God, every human life is sacred and that every person, regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation has inherent dignity and worth. We uphold the sanctity of life by advocating for those who are persecuted because of their faith.
