In 1977, Robert Kraft created Jonathan Kraft Foods, Inc., a holding company for his food businesses. The following year, he bought the New England Patriots football team for $172 million. Under Kraft’s ownership, the Patriots have won six Super Bowl championships: 2001 (XXXVI), 2003 (XXXVIII), 2004 (XXXIX), 2014 (XLIX), 2016 (LI), and 2018 (LIII). The Patriots also appeared in two other Super Bowls during Kraft’s tenure: 2008 (XLII) and 2012 (XLVI).
